He is the pioneer of the “Active Sitting” philosophy, believing that “the best sitting posture is always the next one.”

Opsvik completely broke the tradition of “one chair, one posture.” Inspired by the balanced position of a horseback rider, he created the iconic Capisco – allowing the body to move freely between sitting forward, backward, and sideways. His designs are not only a point of pride for Norwegian design but have also redefined ergonomics: the chair no longer restricts you – it moves with you.
